IRS-authorized Certifying Acceptance Agent
ITIN applications with an IRS-certified agent
We are a Certifying Acceptance Agent (CAA). That means we verify your original passport, issue the certificate the IRS requires, and you never have to mail your document anywhere.
$249 Renewing an existing ITIN: $149. Does not include preparing the tax return.
Your original passport is NOT mailed anywhere
We review it in the office, in front of you. We keep a copy certified by us and the original leaves with you the same day — it never travels to the IRS and it never stays here. That is exactly what filing through a certified agent changes.
With dependents there is a limit the IRS sets: as a certifying agent we may only certify their passport and birth certificate. If your dependent's case needs a different document, that one does have to go to the IRS the ordinary way.
Why being a CAA matters
Without a certified agent you have two options: mail your original passport to the IRS, or get a certified copy from your consulate. A Certifying Acceptance Agent can verify the document, keep a copy certified by the agent, and hand the original back immediately. The package travels with a Certificate of Accuracy signed by the office.
Who needs an ITIN
- You have to file a U.S. tax return and don't qualify for a Social Security number
- Your spouse or children will appear on a return and have no number
- Your ITIN went unused for three years and expired
- A bank or an employer is asking you for a taxpayer identification number
How the process works
- 1
We talk about your case
Half an hour, free, by phone or video. You tell us what you need and we tell you what can be done, which documents it takes and what it costs.
- 2
You upload your documents
From your phone, through the portal or over WhatsApp. Every file is stored with its date in your record, and you can check what you turned in and what's missing whenever you want.
- 3
We prepare it and review it with you
We do the work and walk you through it before filing: what the numbers are, why they are what they are, and what you're signing. Nothing gets filed before you've seen it.
- 4
We file, and you keep the copy
We file with the IRS and the state. The complete copy stays in your portal for whenever you need it — for a lender, for a lease, for next year.
What to bring to the appointment
- A valid passport, the original
- If the passport has no U.S. entry date, a document that shows it
- For dependents: birth certificate and, depending on age, medical or school records
- The income information for the year you are filing
Worth knowing beforehand
- Form W-7 almost always travels with a tax return: an ITIN is rarely requested on its own, outside specific exceptions.
- An ITIN is for filing taxes. It does not authorize employment and it does not grant immigration status.
- The IRS decides. We prepare and certify the package; the IRS sets the timeline.
The first 30-minute conversation costs nothing. Tell us your situation and we'll tell you what can be done and what it costs.
